The last guest left with laughter echoing down the hallway, the sound fading slowly until the house fell into a suffocating stillness. It was strange how silence could feel heavier than noise. My feet burned, my hands ached, yet I didn’t allow myself to stop. I kept moving—cleaning, arranging, wiping the same surfaces again and again as if dust could gather within seconds.
